Hi my name is Maggie Rojas Glover Westbury.
I had the distinct pleasure, good fortune, and shear fate, of working at Gardo, Doughtie and Rose in the early 80s where Tim was my immediate supervisor. I enjoyed this first real life job experience due to the wonderful moments that awaited each and every day, compliments of Tim He was a man who knew how to live life to its fullest, share and take the time for anyone who was lucky enough to traverse or wander into his universe, his love of family, his great attitude on any day for whatever life threw at him. I learned a lot from him, ethics, values, charity to others, that humor will save the day, and a deep concern and value for everything that crosses your path.
And creativity...non paralleled...who can ever forget the state "hot plates"? He was also gifted with a voice and a talent for words. We are lucky in life to achieve or find just one talent..he had the smorgasbord!
Who will ever forget the bowling pope? I remember one day being called into his office, and he was wearing a gorilla suit. When that did not get any attention, he peeled the banana and started making monkey noises, I followed along, not giving in to a smile. Then the fake rat ran across the floor, just a minuscule moment in time that was just a "Tim moment".
He and his wife Betsy were always giving and kind, no question too small or too great. What a wonderful example of matrimony, which kept my standards on this sort of thing very high.
After I left HHI and got married, I had the good fortune/fate/and again luck to have to call someone for advice. That was Tim, always there, always had a moment. I believe he had a magical gift to make everyone in his life, for however brief the time, feel lucky to be in his universe.
If I had known about the service..I would have come. I just found out about it an hour ago and it broke my heart. I wish Betsy and her family all the love and support they need at this time.
We were all soooo lucky to have some "Tim time" in our lives. |
